Review: Wait For Me

Wait For Me
Wait For Me by Elisabeth Naughton

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved the premise and characters were well drawn. Kate/Annie a little clearer than Ryan.

To have no memory of almost your entire life would be hard to handle. To then find out that the little memory you do have is lies would be devastating. That's what happened to Kate/Annie.

Ryan lost his wife 5 years previously, comes home from work and finds a woman that looks almost exactly like his late wife in the street in front of his house.

I can't even imagine being either of the them.

I felt the author took a few short cuts to the happy ending and the resolution of the mystery was a little rushed.

Review: Between Heaven and Texas

Between Heaven and Texas
Between Heaven and Texas by Marie Bostwick

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Recommended by a friend (Thanks, Helen) when I started reading I wasn't sure I would like the book at all. But the characters were interesting enough and made me curious enough that I kept reading. Before I knew it I was hooked and couldn't swipe the pages fast enough.

The relationship between the twins and their mother seemed quite realistic to me.

Really the only negative is there isn't a direct sequel I would have loved to read more.

Review: A Liaden Universe Constellation: Volume I

A Liaden Universe Constellation: Volume I
A Liaden Universe Constellation: Volume I by Sharon Lee

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The stories in this anthology had all been previously published in one version or another but I hadn't read them so was thrilled to read them here.

All the stories take place within the Liaden Universe but not necessarily with characters that have appeared in the Liaden novels.

I loved reading the stories but unfortunately now I feel a strong need to start rereading the whole series and with the size of my TBR mountain, that is not a good thing. Good thing I read fast.

Looking forward to the next volume of stories in January.

Review: Fifth Grave Past the Light

Fifth Grave Past the Light
Fifth Grave Past the Light by Darynda Jones

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It takes me a little while to get used to the writing style with each book but once I get into it, I really enjoy the story.

The mystery was a little hard to solve, which is a good thing.

Biggest negative (which isn't really a negative) is that when I finish I want to read the next one NOW.

Review: After Dark: The Darkest Angel/Shadow Hunter

After Dark: The Darkest Angel/Shadow Hunter
After Dark: The Darkest Angel/Shadow Hunter by Gena Showalter

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I had read the Showalter story, The Darkest Angel, previously, but it is a good look at the Lords of the Underworld so I read it again.

The Kait Ballenger is an introduction to a new series. It did read a little like a first book but thay may be because of the short format. I've already added the next book to my Want-To-Read list.

Review: Reading Between the Lines

Reading Between the Lines
Reading Between the Lines by Lauren Dane

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I always enjoy Lauren Dane and this was no exception. It did read like an early book with less complex sentence structure and maybe a little less development of the characters.

I would enjoy reading more about the world created here. Hint, Hint.
