Review: The Undead Pool

The Undead Pool
The Undead Pool by Kim Harrison

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this one. I like the way the whole story arc is going. I have to admit it got so intense towards the end I had to keep sitting it down for a few minutes before I could pick it up and read more.

Review: Beneath the Patchwork Moon

Beneath the Patchwork Moon
Beneath the Patchwork Moon by Alison Kent

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Which really tickled me since I loved the first one and was eagerly awaiting Beneath the Patchwork Moon.

Although a sequel (Second Chance Cafe) it didn't read like a sequel and if I hadn't read the first one it would have made no difference to my enjoyment of Patchwork Moon.

Luna Matthews has kept her best friend's secrets for 10 years - since Sierra died in the accident that Luna survived. In some respects those secrets have kept Luna from fully living her life. Beneath the Patchwork Moon is the story of how she finally fully embraces the fact that she lived.

I felt the characters of Luna and Angelo (Sierra's older brother and Luna's first love) were very well written and the choices they made, and make, very believable.

I really liked this book and can't wait to read Indiana's story, and I really hope Will gets a story someday.

Review: Rule Breaker

Rule Breaker
Rule Breaker by Lora Leigh

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is a hard one to rate, probably should be 2.5. More than anything the book needed a good editor: run on sentences, wrong words and repetition were just some of the annoyances. The book took me at least twice as long to finish as a book that length should have simply because my mind kept stopping to rewrite parts so they would make sense.

The story itself was pretty good, although there were some what I thought were TSTL moments, and it did move the overall Breed storyline along.

I did finish therefore the 2 stars.

Review: River Road

River Road
River Road by Jayne Ann Krentz

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I almost always enjoy Krentz and I really liked this one. Heroine a tad more independent and hero a tad less alpha. Very enjoyable.

Review: Oath Bound

Oath Bound
Oath Bound by Rachel Vincent

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I had a hard time getting into this one, probably because it had been a while since I had read the previous one and I had difficulty getting back into the world.

Review: Rocky Mountain Freedom

Rocky Mountain Freedom
Rocky Mountain Freedom by Vivian Arend

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book. I really enjoyed the previous books in the series and this one had just that little bit more. Having spent a lot of time with Travis in the previous books seeing him work through his issues and get his happy ending was really special.

When I read the synopsis, I wasn't sure this book would be my taste. But I am so glad I read it and can't wait for the next Six Pack book. Everyone should have the kind of understanding in their family that the Coleman's do.

Review: To Dance With the Devil

To Dance With the Devil
To Dance With the Devil by Cat Adams

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love the Celia books. Celia has so much going on in her life but she just pulls up her big girl pants and deals with it. No whining, no blaming just deals. Great book.
